Abstract

Consumption comes from English, namely ''consumption'' which means 1. The act or process of consuming; (the act or process of consuming) 2. The utilization of economic goods in the satisfaction of wants or in the process of production resulting chiefly in their destruction, deterioration, or transformation. (The use of economic goods in fulfilling or satisfying wants; or in the production process that results in destruction, deterioration and change). The purpose of consumption in Islam is the fulfillment of desires and needs both physical and spiritual in order to maximize their human function as a servant of Allah. to gain the pleasure of Allah and obtain happiness in the world and the hereafter (ḥasanah fi al-dunya wa alakhīrah). Consumption based on Surah Al-A'raf verse 31 and 32 Be polite in dressing, eating and drinking and consumption based on Surah Alfurqon verse 67 about being moderate in all things. There are Five (5) Principles of Consumption in Islamic Economics: Principles of Justice, Cleanliness, Simplicity, Generosity and Morality.
