Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to provide insight into the management of Islamic boarding school-based education in Indonesia by referring to some of the literature and regulations that have developed in Indonesia. Some research results show that the Indonesian government has made Islamic education an institution that must be accommodated by the state, especially Islamic boarding schools. This can be seen from the formation of Law Number 18 of 2019 concerning Islamic Boarding Schools. Some quality management of Islamic education certainly needs to be improved from various aspects including 1) government support, 2) leadership based on universality values ​​and manifested in its application, 3) teacher performance, 4) relevant curriculum, 5) qualified graduates and an effective institutional climate, and 6) support from various elements such as government, educational institutions and the community.
