URGENSI PENDIDIKAN BAGI PEREMPUAN DALAM PANDANGAN ISLAM
Abstrak
In this article we examine how the urgency of education for women. The author takes the main source is the Qur'an accompanied by supporting references such as from tafsir and books on Islamic views on women's education. After the arrival of Islamic teachings, the dignity of women was honored, unlike in the era of ignorance. As explained in AlQuran surah At-Takwir: 8-9. As for women and men have the same capacity, regarding morals, education, spirituality, and intellectuality are equally noble in the sight of Allah, the only difference being piety. Education does not recognize gender. In Islam men and women are encouraged to study without limits. Does not limit age, gender and place. Where and whenever education can be obtained, not only in schools, in the family, education can also be obtained. Islam wants women to have knowledge (education) and not only for men. There are many female figures in Islam who become examples for women today and are also not left behind with education, such as the Prophet's wife, Aisyah r.a, she is known as a woman who is smart and highly knowledgeable. As a poet and also a hadith memorizer, as well as other women, such as Maryam and Khadijah r.a., there are also female figures who are well-known as reformers in the field of women's education, namely Kartini who has a breakthrough in teaching the importance of education for women.
